We’ve moved our memberships management to a new platform, hosted by Communal, where you can now manage your account, download your membership card, and set up automatic renewals.
1. How to access your new account
First time logging in?
You’ll need to activate your account by resetting your password. Just follow these steps:
Enter your email address and click “Send Password Reset Link”
Check your inbox for an email from IKT International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art (sent from noreply@getcommunal.com)
Click the link in the email and set your new password
Already activated your account?
You can log in here: https://ikt.getcommunal.com/login
Once you’re logged in, we recommend updating your profile. Go to Settings > General Settings and enter your current address.
If your membership is up to date or paid in advance, you can skip ahead to Step 3 to download your digital membership card.
2. How to Renew or Purchase Your Membership
If your membership is current or paid in advance, the system will only allow you to purchase a new one 60 days before your expiration date.
To renew or purchase a membership:
Navigate to Memberships > Buy Membership
Choose from two options:
Annual Membership – €50.00
Full access to all member benefits for one calendar year.Annual Membership (Enhanced Contribution) - €100.00
A voluntary option for members supported by institutions or able to contribute more. Your support helps us grow IKT programming and resources.
Click Next Step to add it to your basket
Proceed to Checkout and follow the steps to complete your payment
Before finishing, we recommend ticking “Automatically renew my membership upon expiration.” This helps ensure uninterrupted access to all your member benefits.
Please note: our new system does not display historical payments made outside of Communal. If your membership appears inactive, it may simply be because your previous payments were made before we moved to this platform and the current year’s fee hasn’t been paid yet. Once you renew, you’ll be able to download your digital membership card, and all future payments will be visible in your account.
3. Accessing Your Membership Card
After your payment is complete, you can download your digital membership card:
Go to My Memberships
Click to view and download your card (for personal records or institutional use)
4. Accessing the Members Section on the IKT Website
Once your membership is confirmed, we’ll send you the password to access the Members Section of the IKT website. (If you’re already an active member, you should have this information.) Please note: this password is separate from your Communal account login. Inside the Members Section, you’ll find the Members Directory and other exclusive resources.

We're still in the process of moving everyone over to the new system, so don’t worry if your account isn’t showing up just yet. Just email us to let us know — it might be a small glitch, or maybe we missed something while transferring the records (it happens to the best of us!).
