Membership FAQs:

  • Use the login page: https://ikt.getcommunal.com/login

  • You’ll need to activate your account by resetting your password:

    1. Go to https://ikt.getcommunal.com/password/reset

    2. Enter your email address and click Send Password Reset Link

    3. Check your inbox for an email from IKT International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art (sent from noreply@getcommunal.com)

    4. Click the link in the email and set your new password

    1. Go to https://ikt.getcommunal.com/login and click Forgot password.

    2. Enter the email address associated with your account and click Send password reset link.

    3. You’ll receive an email with instructions to reset your password.

  • Once logged in, go to Settings > General Settings to review and update your details.

  • Go to Memberships > Buy Membership, then choose:

    • Annual Membership – €50.00 (one calendar year of full member benefits)

    • Annual Membership (Enhanced Contribution) – €100.00 (voluntary extra support to help grow IKT programming and resources)

    Click Next Step, then Checkout and follow the payment steps.

  • IKT memberships run on a calendar-year basis (1 January–31 December). Payments activate or extend your membership for the current calendar year, regardless of when you pay.

  • Yes. During checkout, tick Automatically renew my membership upon expiration to keep your access uninterrupted.

  • If your membership is current or paid in advance, the system will only allow a new purchase 20 days before your expiration date.

  • Historical payments made outside Communal do not appear in the platform. If your membership looks inactive, it may be because your earlier payments were made before the move and the current year hasn’t been paid yet. Once you renew, you’ll be able to download your digital membership card and future payments will show in your account.

  • After your payment is complete:

    1. Go to My Memberships

    2. Open your membership and download your digital card

  • Once your membership is confirmed, we’ll send you the password for the Members Access Section of the IKT website. This password is separate from your Communal account login. Inside the Members Section you’ll find the Members Directory and other member-only resources.

  • Email us at ikt.curatorial@gmail.com and we’ll help. If your account isn’t showing, it may just be a small glitch or a missed record during the transfer.
