St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub is one of the most exciting new health facilities in the country. Purpose-designed and opened in November 2024, it sits in landscaped grounds in Hornchurch, North East London, bringing together state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities, a GP practice, a dialysis unit, a healthy ageing centre, and more – all working as one, under a shared Integrated Services Model.

The hub’s founding vision is bold:

“To encourage, develop and maintain physical, mental and social health, wellbeing and independence.”

Creative Health sits at the heart of that vision – not an add-on, but a genuine pillar of care. It humanises the environment, supports recovery and prevention, keeps communities connected, and bridges the clinical and the creative in ways that benefit everyone. This exciting role is an opportunity to develop a model of Creative Health in Neighbourhood health centres that could be adopted and influence the broader Creative sector more widely.

THE CREATIVE HEALTH STRATEGY

To meet this vision the St George’s Partnership Board commissioned the development of a Creative Health Strategy that maps how this work will be embedded, sustained, and evaluated across three interconnected strands:

  • Environmental Enrichment

  • Clinical Priorities

  • Living, Working and Ageing Well

The Strategy aims to: support prevention, treatment, recovery and wellbeing; bind clinical and non-clinical approaches into an integrated model of care; and create a shared sense of identity, belonging, and purpose across the hub and the communities it serves.

THE ROLE

The role is part time (average 2.5 days per week), for two years, with an expectation at least 50% of that time is based at St George’s to develop, establish and embed the programme.

This is a hands-on, creative delivery and production role at the heart of St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. As Creative Health Producer, you will be the person who makes things happen – bringing artists, communities, clinical staff, and local organisations together to create a Creative Health Programme that is joyful, meaningful, high quality and genuinely embedded in the life of the hub.

You will work closely with the Creative Health Lead and report into the Partnership Board, with day-to-day responsibility for coordinating and project management activities across the three strands of the Creative Health Strategy. This role is for someone who loves working with artists, communities and senior stakeholders and knows how to get creative projects off the ground.

We’re looking for a creative producer with a genuine passion for arts and health – someone who is energised by collaboration, skilled at bringing people and projects together, and excited by the opportunity to do this work in a genuinely pioneering setting.

You will have real experience of working with artists and communities, and a clear understanding of why creative health matters.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Experience producing or coordinating creative public programmes, arts projects, or cultural activity – ideally with a health, community, or social impact focus

  • Experience working directly with artists and creative practitioners – commissioning, managing, and supporting their work

  • Experience of community engagement or participatory arts practice

  • Experience building, maintaining and negotiating productive working relationships across highly complex organisations and sectors

  • Some experience of or familiarity with fundraising or grant applications

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working within or alongside NHS, health, or social care settings

  • Knowledge of creative health practice and relevant quality frameworks

  • Experience working with diverse and underserved communities

  • An understanding of the common issues that communities in Havering face

  • Familiarity with evaluation or impact measurement in arts or health contexts

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong creative production and project coordination skills – you know how to plan, prioritise, and deliver

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – you build trust quickly and work well with a wide range of people

  • A proven enthusiasm for the arts in all their forms

  • Understanding of safeguarding, fair pay, and ethical practice in community and arts settings

  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously

  • Commitment to co-production, equity, access, and inclusive practice

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Warm, collaborative, and genuinely people-centred in your approach

  • Motivated by making creative health accessible and meaningful for everyone

  • Adaptable and resourceful – comfortable navigating the unexpected

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, while staying closely connected to the wider team

  • Excited by the chance to contribute to something new and potentially transformative
