The Whitworth, part of The University of Manchester, is a publicly accessible art gallery committed to the widest possible access to its public programme and collections. You will make an active contribution to the work of the Collections and Exhibitions team by leading the care, access, understanding, and presentation of the collection of modern and contemporary art (1880 – present).

Supporting the Whitworth’s mission to connect art with current social, global and political contexts, you will develop rigorous and inclusive exhibitions using the gallery collections and with artists and other external parties, including academic partners and gallery users. In your role, you will liaise closely with teams across the gallery to deliver the Whitworth’s innovative and audience-focused vision, with a focus on raising the international profile of collections and exhibitions.
