This significant new position at the Courtauld Gallery provides an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the Gallery’s engagement with contemporary art.

Building on its successful reopening in 2021, the Courtauld Gallery aims to further extend the scope of its programming and to reach wider and more diverse audiences. As part of the curatorial team of the Gallery, this role will focus principally on the development and delivery of important original exhibitions of contemporary art.  The role will also be responsible for identifying other opportunities to enhance the vitality and dynamism of The Courtauld’s engagement with the wider contemporary arts community. The post-holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues from across the organization, including The Courtauld’s faculty and students. Applicants must have a substantial prior curatorial experience, including a track-record of curating successful exhibitions.

The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts. It is an internationally renowned centre for the teaching and research of art history and is also a major public gallery. The Courtauld Gallery cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, sharing these works with the public at its home in Somerset House in central London. It also produces a critically acclaimed series of temporary exhibitions and displays.
