Curator at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam seeks a Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art.

With a world-class collection that spans many centuries and disciplines, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen holds a pivotal position in an international network of leading museums. Working with this multifaceted collection in Rotterdam—a city where 660,000 inhabitants speak 175 languages and that has historically been home to many significant collectors—creates dynamism, fostering new ideas and connections. Since 2021, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen has made the museum’s collection fully accessible to the public, offering visitors insight into how an art museum manages, restores, and maintains its public collection. The museum's innovative strength as a knowledge institute is reflected in its successful series of scholarly publications, Boijmans Studies, as well as in ongoing exhibitions and educational projects, continuing even as the museum is closed for renovation and modernization. During this transitional period, the institution focuses on enhancing its methodology and expanding public reach. Interaction with visitors, collectors, the media, and colleagues is a crucial aspect of working at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, where art is celebrated, and center stage is given to artists, designers, and the context in which they live and work. To strengthen its curatorial team, the museum is recruiting a Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art.
