Rendering the Invisible
SPLACES.STUDIO presents Rendering the Invisible, its first major institutional exhibition in Italy and the country’s first permanent public art park dedicated to art & science. Ten works, including six world premieres, explore the invisible atmospheric, geological, biological, and ecological processes that shape our shared world.
Rendering the Invisible is a project by SPLACES.STUDIO that brings together a park of light & sound sculptures and a museum art & science exhibition dedicated to invisible natural processes, environmental data, and more-than-human forms of perception.
The project reveals natural processes that usually remain beyond direct perception, transforming hidden dynamics into light, sound, movement, and tactile experience. Through responsive artistic systems, the works invite visitors to encounter nature not as a passive landscape, but as an active field of relations — shaped by signals, rhythms, forces, and forms of non-human agency.
The exhibition is curated by IKT member Khristina Ots, with Svetlana Sidorova as producer.
Participating artists include Sabir Akhmedov, Nikita Boyakov, Vsevolod Krassa, Anton Shchegolev of sec_resident, Elina Zazulya and ΣΟΦΙΑ.
The project has been developed in collaboration with scientists Nika Samotskaya, María Camila Quiroz Silva, Vladimir Olshansky, Petr Smirnov and Dmitry Zvonka, alongside engineers and AI specialists Ruslan Bobko, Anel Eralieva, Oleg Lashmanov and k.v.e.f.
SPLACES.STUDIO was founded by Andy Shibanov, Ekaterina Chistyakova and Vitaly Babenyshev.
