About Stiftung Arp
Since 1977, the Stiftung Arp e.V. has overseen a great part of the artistic estates of the Franco-German sculptor Hans Arp and of the Swiss artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Its central purpose is to oversee the artists’ estates and to make their works accessible to the public. The Stiftung Arp e.V. owns the copyright to Hans Arp’s artistic oeuvre, with the exception of his artworks located in the Swiss canton Ticino.
The foundation’s most important mission is to make the work of Arp and Taeuber-Arp accessible to a wide international audience through the support of exhibitions, loans and publications. The support of academic research on the work of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp is one of its most important activities. The Stiftung Arp e.V. opened its archive in order to facilitate research on Hans Arp’s oeuvre. The archive and the collection are accessible on request. The collection of Arp’s plasters and a part of the bronze sculptures are distributed to cooperation partners all over the world.
Furthermore the Stiftung Arp e.V. awards research fellowships to both junior as well as senior academics and curators whose work engages with the art of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp. The works of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp will also be successively made available in two online databases.
