Celebrating two decades of powering artistic discovery, VOLTA Basel 2025 returns to its founding city from June 19 – 22 (VIP Collectors Preview 18 June) with a landmark edition in a larger venue, Hall 4.U at Messeplatz 21 — just 200 meters from the heart of Art Week. The 2025 edition of VOLTA seeks to pay tribute to the city of Basel and honor the country the fair was founded in.

This milestone edition welcomes 70 galleries from 28 countries, offering visitors and collectors an experience centered on artistic diversity, innovation, and global perspectives. VOLTA Basel 2025 will showcase a dynamic mix of established and emerging talent, spotlight curated SOLO presentations; encourage cross-cultural dialogue through a dedicated Middle East North African Pavilion; and celebrate the vibrant presence of Swiss galleries.

New Perspectives: Middle East North Africa Pavilion

VOLTA Basel will feature a regional Pavilion, this year presenting the MENA Pavilion curated by Randa Sadaka, a writer and curator based in Beirut. The exhibition highlights the distinct artistic narratives, cultural heritage, and contemporary expressions of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Randa Sadaka offers insight into the exhibition, stating that:

“This Pavilion brings together varied perspectives from across the MENA region, forming a mosaic of artistic voices that challenge, question, and reimagine the dominant narratives shaping this part of the world. The works offer a multiplicity of realities in constant negotiation with history, identity, and the urgencies of the present.”

Participants of the MENA Pavilion include Fann À Porter (Dubai, UAE) presenting works by four Syrian artists including Ahmad Kasha, Majd  Kurdieh, Mayar Obeido and Rabee Kiwan, Gallery Misr (Cairo, Egypt), Khawla Art Gallery (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Le Lab (Cairo, Egypt) presents a series of sculptural works by Khaled Zaki as well as works by Omar Chakil, Georges Mohasseb, Ahmed Bazazo and Moataz Nasr, Maya Art Space (Beirut, Lebanon), Mojdeh Gallery (Tehran, Iran) and Errm Art Gallery (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).
