We are pleased to confirm that the next IKT Congress will take place in Mexico City, Mexico, from 19 to 25 April 2027.

This will be the first IKT Congress to take place in Latin America, placing curatorial discussion within the context of the region and its complex cultural and artistic histories. The Congress will consider the idea of “Latin America” not as a fixed geographical identity, but as a historical and cultural construct shaped by different experiences, relationships and perspectives.

The programme will introduce IKT members to Mexico City’s dynamic contemporary art scene through visits and encounters with some of the city’s most significant public and private institutions. The programme will include Museo Anahuacalli, Museo Jumex and MUAC (Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo), alongside leading independent and private galleries including kurimanzutto, OMR, Arróniz and Saenger Galería.

Through these encounters, the Congress will bring together different perspectives on contemporary artistic and curatorial practice in Mexico while exploring how the country’s rich and complex cultural legacy continues to inform the work of artists, curators and institutions working both locally and internationally.

The Congress will be organised by IKT Board member Guadalupe García and local partners, in close dialogue with the IKT Board.

We look forward to welcoming IKT members to Mexico City for a week of exchange, conversation and discovery.

Further details, including the full programme and registration information, will be shared in due course.
