SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2026
SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2026 is a residency at Barcelona’s Sant Andreu Contemporani, in collaboration with Fabra i Coats – Fàbrica de Creació de Barcelona, open to international curators. As part of the program, an open call is launched to select an international curator who will serve on the jury of the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts in 2026 and subsequently develop a curatorial project with a selection of Catalan artists chosen from the prize applicants. The project must be presented either in the curator’s country of residence or in another international venue willing to host it. The residency covers fees for jury participation and the curatorial proposal (2,000 € subject to applicable taxes), management and production costs for the exhibition (2,000 € subject to applicable taxes), as well as accommodation and travel.
The aim of the open call is to offer the selected curator direct insight into the local art context through participation in the Miquel Casablancas Prize jury, and to encourage future collaborations between local and international cultural actors within the field of emerging artistic talent.
For reasons of sustainability and resource management, the geographical scope for applications is limited to Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa.
The application period runs from November 14th, 2025 to February 1st, 2026. The submission form will be available on the SAC website until midnight on February 1st, 2026. No applications will be accepted after this deadline. In the event of technical problems with online registration, the required documents must be sent by email before midnight on February 1st, 2026.
The selected applicant will be announced on the website (santandreucontemporani.org) at the end of February 2026.
